Once again, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are going to the Superbowl! The Pats destroyed Tim TeBow and the Denver Broncos last week, and this week they squeaked by the Baltimore Ravens 23-20. The Pats are a model of consistency and arguably the most successful franchise in North American over the last decade. Last week, the Pats ended TeBowMania by routing the Broncos 45-10. Brady threw 6TD passes, including 5TDs in the 1st half. It was never a contest from the beginning, and the Pats playoff experience was clearly evident. Brady silenced all the hype around Tebow in a big way! Brady wasn’t as sharp against the Ravens (0 TD, 2 INT, 1-yd run TD), and he needed some luck. With 11 seconds to go in the 4th quarter, Baltimore Ravens’ kicker Billy Cundiff missed a makable 32-yard field goal that would have potentially forced OT. Hence, the Pats going back to the Superbowl.

There’s no way LeBron will miss this game because he will be matched up with Kobe. If he misses this game, Kobe will automatically get the edge in terms of the” Kobe vs LeBron” debate. Kobe is not ill, but he’s playing with an injured wrist and he’s taking pain killers to control the pain. Kobe and LeBron are the top 2 scorers in the L, averaging 30.8pts and 29.8pts respectively. LeBron will also face his former Cleveland Cavalier coach Mike Brown (now the Lakers coach). Miami destroyed the Spurs in their previous game while the Lakers edged the Mavs in their previous game. Dwayne Wade will miss his 2nd straight game due to a sprained right ankle.

After almost a 2-month lockout, the 2011-12 NBA is now finally underway! On Christmas Day, the Defending Champs Dallas Mavericks raised their banners and hosted the Miami Heat (runner-up last season). The Heat did their best to spoil the party by defeating the Mavs 105-94; the margin of victory is misleading because the game was over by 3rd quarter and the Mavs put up a bunch of garbage points. The Mavs lost Chandler, Barea, Butler and Stevenson this offseason, but they replaced them with Vince Carter and Lamar Odom. Miami felt short last season, but they are expected to be hungrier than ever this season. The cramped schedule might benefit teams like Miami and Oklahoma because they are young, durable and athletic; the same cannot be said fo the Celtics, Lakers, and the Spurs. Although Miami is the clear favorite in the East, do not count out those Chicago Bulls! Afterall, the Bulls have the best record last season and they have everyone back and healthy.

Winter is finally in full swing and we’re days away from Christmas. I’m not a skiing/snowboarding person, so I don’t have any outdoor actitivites during the winter. To keep in shape, I usually go to the gym during the cold months. I miss the summer months when I would take my SUV, attach my suv bike rack, and go on a biking excursion near my lake.
Dwight Howard made it official: he wants to be traded. But for the time being, Dwight will probably start the season in a Magic uniform. I expect a mix reception from the Orlando crowd, which should not suprise D12. I think the Magic are preparing life without him, and he will be hard to replace (will need frontcourt help). D12 prefers to go to the Lakers or the Nets. The Lakers failed to sign CP3, but I’m guessing they will turn their undivided attention to D12. The Lakers will likely need to cough up Gasol and/or Bynum to have a shot at getting him. I’m not sure why he prefers the Nets? The Nets’ support cast is no different than Magic, and I don’t think Deron is committed to the Nets in the long term.

Children nowadays play with all sorts of electronic gadgets such as Ipads, Ipods, and electronic gaming systems. Time has really change. When I was a child, I played board games, LEGO, and I used to go to a yo yo store to buy yoyo! Personally, I think children are exposed to electronic gadgets way too early because it is everywhere.
Kobe Bryant can’t wait till 2011 is over. He’s having an unforgettable year. First, his Lakers lost to the Mavs in the playoffs. Of course, there’s the NBA lockout, but the season will resume on Christmas Day. The Lakers were supposed to get Chris Paul (they would’ve traded away Odom and Gasol), but David Stern vetoed the trade due to complaints by several NBA owners. As a result of the blocked trade, Odom was unhappy knowing he was being shopped. Odom then requested a trade and his wish was granted, but he was traded to the rival Mavs! Chris Paul ended up being traded to LA’s second team, the LA Clippers! Clippers are now suddenly dangerous because they also added Billups and Butler to their lineup. The Lakers suddenly have competition! Oh and now Kobe’s wife filed for divorce!
